The Green Homes Grant
With some 600,000 households across England expected to participate in the new Green Homes Grant set to begin on 30th September, homeowners & landlords will soon be applying for funding towards the cost of installing energy-efficient improvements to their homes.
The new £2 billion Green Homes Grant will see the government fund up to two-thirds of the cost of the improvements.
TrustMark Accreditation Rules
Under the new initiative set by Government, there will be strict accreditation rules meaning builders, plumbers and other tradespeople must register for TrustMark accreditation to provide their services for the installation of the energy saving measures. Tradespeople are being urged by the Government to sign up for the TrustMark accreditation. As a result, the benefits will:
Drive support for over 100,000 jobs Increase demand for work Provide homeowners with funding Provide confidence in the quality of workmanship for your customers Provide an opportunity to become Trading Standards Approved
TrustMark is the government-endorsed quality scheme covering work a consumer chooses to have carried out in their homes. Householders will be able to choose from tradespeople in their areas to carry out the work, but only approved and accredited installers will be able to be commissioned, ensuring high standards and consumer protection.
