Social inclusion can be effective, fulfilling and challenging, as well as drawing on a range of skill sets to encourage local people.

We understand that as a responsible business we have a social responsibility to help improve the communities within which we operate. CSR is very high on our agenda and we actively encourage our involvement in such schemes and strive to obtain great relationships with our customers/clients.

Over the years have been involved in a number of CSR initiatives, from supporting local housing associations by providing material to refurbishing community buildings, community engagement organisations and charities, through to school mentoring where we aim to help build young people's confidence in a number of core skills and interview techniques.

Recently we have partnered up with Bron Afon Housing Association and Afon Community Trust, to create and deliver a support and life build project through 'Real Life' capitol works and hands on learning/employment programme 'Trade That Works'. This programme will connect and facilitate a safe environment to encourage young people to gain confidence, qualifications and reconnect them into their communities

We are also leading the way towards creating the UK's next generation of employees, by committing to our apprenticeship programme, we continually provide trainees with experience in all aspects of the business to identify and develop untapped talents, along with any training courses they require to fulfil their role.

We have also worked closely with the Construction Youth Trust on the Budding Brunels project.

Budding Brunels is a programme aimed at inspiring students when it comes to their career options within construction, as well as providing first-hand knowledge of how the industry works and to gain valuable work experience.

The project is run over 3 days where students are given presentations from different construction professionals, visit a live site and given help with their interpersonal skills.

During the 3 days programme, we attended a 1 day workshop to help and advise students on CV writing, application form filling and to gain an understanding of what to expect from an interview, as well as how to present themselves.

For students who excel during the workshop, work placements are also available providing valuable experience that may be used to enhance future employability. This project aims to open up the doors to new opportunities for young people and help them overcome barriers to secure education, training or employment in construction.

We continue to invest and engage in not only the future of our products but also in our workforce and local communities to ensure that we are able to offer the best technical support and advice for our customers, whether that be contractor, utilities provider or the end user to help create a brighter warmer future.
